Fantasy Plants of de Altus Saltus

The flora of the Altus Saltus is deadly!

Arborum Sanguinem Trees punch up through the soil with and are happy to impale a hapless traveler with their sword like roots or tempt with their murderously poisonous berries. They thrive in places of death and battle and are almost sentiment in their quest for nutrients.

Sanguis Grass is often found growing around the Sanguinem trees - it too thrives on an 'iron rich' soil, and is not fussy as to whether its roots are soaked or dry as long as there is a steady flow of red oxide bearing liquid to sustain them. Their foliage is needle like and sharp as a sword and will slice skin, cloth and hide as easily as paper.

By contrast the Caeruleum Fructum tree is on the surface at least, a lot less deadly, its glossy green leaves spotted with bright blue vesicles are born in summer on the rather spindly trunks and branches, the bright blue fruit of this tree are a conundrum, the blue flesh is sweet, delicious and nutritious - as long as the seed contained within is not ruptured. The seed is deadly poisonous. The trees love lowland areas with at least six months of soil saturation.

Sapientes Grass is often found surrounding the blue fruited trees - it is an odd grass with its green leaves and oddly horn shaped flower heads. Lots of folk law exists around it and it is said to have magical or life giving properties.

This set of hightly detailed fantasy plants is the perfect way to add some color, texture and interest in to any scene.

The trees are relitivly high resolution and are designed to be used as hero plants where as the grasses will happily work in large numbers as instances.
